ABOUT Us
NOTE: Who has time to read all of this? If you don’t, just read the bold portions to get enough of an overview.
We are a husband and wife duo in our early 40s with 3 kids. We grew up being active and playing sports. In college, Zach majored in Exercise Science and Cat was on a Pre-Med track so we both were always interested in health and fitness (even though neither of us ended up using our degree). Then after we graduated, started working, and eventually had kids, life started getting in the way. We still ate pretty well and stayed active, but we never fully committed to getting in shape at the level we should’ve.
About 5 years ago when middle aged pains started creeping in like throwing our back out picking up a piece of paper, or a psoas so tight it made it hard to sleep, we decided to get more serious about it. We aren’t trying to become world-class athletes, just be as healthy and fit as we can while still enjoying our busy life.
We have tried a ton of different health and fitness fads, techniques, and tried-and-true staples and we’re starting to figure out what works for us and what doesn’t. Or actually more accurately: what is worth our time and money and what isn’t.
We aren’t on any sort of mission to change the world or tell you what you should do. Our only goal is to research, experiment and share our experiences in the overwhelming, and sometimes confusing, world of health and fitness and hopefully that will help us meet other people like us. We believe community is one of the most important parts of staying healthy, but there aren’t many spaces like this made specifically for middle-aged people. That’s why this exists. We’re not experts and we’re not influencers, just regular people trying to figure it out and sharing what we learn.
